Parents Grasp the Concepts of the New First Grade Textbook!

How parents stepped into the new NEP 2020-aligned Grade 1 textbook, alongside the project's leadership.

To understand the new Grade 1 textbook, prepared in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020, all parents attended a parent meeting on July 20th, carrying their own copies of the textbook. During the meeting, Project Head Satish Narhare, Director and Principal Savita Narhare, and Expert Trainer Prabhakar Hipparge provided guidance to the attendees.

Dnyanprakash is an experimental Marathi-medium school. The philosophy is that parents should not “teach” children; rather, if they allow children to learn on their own, the children learn a great deal through their own actions and experiences. Narhare Sir engaged in a dialogue with parents on key questions: What exactly has changed with the curriculum? How should children's learning take place? And how should parents handle the textbook?

Under the changing educational policy, greater emphasis has been placed on four linguistic skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. Through awareness, sensitivity, and creativity, a child's social, intellectual, moral, emotional, and physical development is achieved.

Along with the textbooks, the learning outcomes contain many guidelines for both teachers and parents. Principal and Director Savita Narhare emphasized that parents play a role just as important as teachers in developing these skills in children and in their evaluation.
